What's in a Name?
Focused Pet Care was born out of passion and a need in the local veterinary market for accessible, high-quality patient care in a timely manner. Focused Pet Care was founded by Dr. Tim Holloway in Orange Park, FL in late 2022. He is supported by an exceptional team of veterinary professionals.
Currently, Focused Pet Care offers the following services:
- General and Advanced Dentistry and Oral Surgery Procedures
- Outpatient Surgical Procedures including General Soft Tissue and Orthopedic Procedures
- Urgent Care Visits (based on the veterinarian’s availability)
- We DO NOT offer wellness/vaccination services
What is in a name and slogan?
Many ask why the name is Focused Pet Care. The key word is “Focused” and our slogan is “Focused On What Matters!” What are we focused on?
Our primary “focus” is on the health and well-being of our patients AND those who take care of them. But still, what does that mean?
- We believe that if we limit our services to the procedures that our veterinarians enjoy and are proficient at performing, the end result is much more likely to be a successful one. Not to mention, the ability to hone one’s skills to be the best they can be rather than being spread so thin by general practice duties, responsibilities and patient counts.
- We believe in creating a practice culture of a laid back, non-judgmental and welcoming environment; an environment that fosters a fun yet professional setting. Our belief is that a fun, laid back yet professional setting allows for a less stressful environment for the pet, the client and the team working with that pet.
- We believe we have an obligation to provide our team with the best training to be successful and in turn, provide them with the lifestyle they deserve for the dedication and very hard work they perform day in and day out.
- We are very aware of the concerns of the mental health crisis in our field. In addition to our goal of providing the best care for our patients, we also strive to provide the environment and resources to ensure the Focused Pet Care’s team mental health is the best it can be.
Overall, our mission is “Focused” on creating a better veterinary environment.
All too often, procedures are recommended for patients and then there are long wait times to have the procedures performed, or the veterinarians recommending the procedures are not comfortable or unable to perform the procedures and thus require a referral to a specialty clinic which may have even longer wait times. Due to scheduling conflicts, oftentimes veterinarians find themselves offering and performing procedures that they may not be trained to perform and thus ending up causing more harm than help. By limiting our services to those that our veterinarians excel, we can avoid the pitfalls mentioned above and assist your primary veterinarian by taking the stress load off of them, in turn improving their quality of life in their own clinical setting.
